Polish citizenship

The voivode competent for the place of residence of the foreigner, recognizes the foreigner as a Polish citizen when he:

  • residing continuously on the territory of the Republic of Poland for at least 3 years on the basis of a permanent residence permit,
  • long-term resident’s EU residence permit or based on the right of permanent residence,
  • which has a stable and regular source of income in Poland and a legal title to occupy a dwelling,
  • residing continuously on the territory of the Republic of Poland for at least 2 years on the basis of a permanent residence permit,
  • long-term resident’s EU residence permit or based on the right of permanent residence, who:
    • has been married for at least 3 years with a Polish citizen or does not have any citizenship, residing continuously on the territory of the Republic of Poland for at least 2 years on the basis of a permanent residence permit,
    • which he obtained in relation to having a refugee status granted in the Republic of Poland, a minor foreigner whose one of the parents is a Polish citizen staying on the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a permanent residence permit, a resident’s residence permit long-term European Communities or the right of permanent residence, and the other parent who did not have Polish citizenship consented to this recognition,
    • a minor foreigner whose at least one of the parents has been restored to Polish citizenship if the minor is staying on the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a permanent residence permit, long-term resident’s EU residence permit or permanent residence permit, and the other parent who did not have Polish citizenship consented to it’s recognition,
    • residing continuously and legally on the territory of the Republic of Poland for at least 10 years, which meets all the following conditions:
      • has a permanent residence permit,
      • a long-term resident’s residence permit or permanent residence permit and has a stable and regular source of income in the Republic of Poland and a legal title to occupy a dwelling,
      • residing continuously on the territory of the Republic of Poland for at least a year on the basis of a permanent residence permit, which he obtained in connection with the Polish origin or possession of the Polish Card.
