EU citizens and their family members

A citizen of a Member State of the European Union, a member state of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – party to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation who intends to stay in Poland for more than 3 months should register his stay. An application to register a foreigner’s stay must be submitted in person to the voivode competent for the place of stay, no later than on the day following the expiration of 3 months from the day of entry into the territory of the Republic of Poland. It is also necessary to submit documents confirming the purpose of stay (eg in the case of work – a contract of employment, in studies – a certificate of taking or continuing studies).

A foreigner who does not hold the citizenship of a Member State of the European Union, a member state of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Swiss Confederation, a member of the family of a citizen of the European Union may apply for a residence card of a family member of a European Union citizen. the stay of a family member of an EU citizen – a foreigner submits himself / herself to the voivode competent for the place of stay, no later than on the day following the lapse of 3 months from the date of entry into the territory of the Republic of Poland. Documents confirming the purpose of stay should also be submitted (eg a certificate of registration of the stay of an EU citizen to whom you are attached, civil status records confirming your family relationship or marriage).
